Aacquafauna / Linha Nature
1 – Why do I have to add Nitrate (N0K) to planted aquarium?
R: Because nitrate is one of the main nutrients for aquatic plants, fundamental for its development and growth. This element shall occur in adequate and balanced concentration, otherwise, plants present signals of deficiency and inhibited growth.
2 – Why shall we add NITRATE (N0K) to planted aquarium, as Nitrogen cycle happens naturally?
R: It is due to the great need of nitrate by plants, quantity obtained naturally through the nitrogen cycle is many times not enough, and fertile liquid or substrate complementation is needed.
3 – Which NITRATE concentration (N0K) shall I keep in my planted aquarium?
R: Concentration recommended of nitrate for the majority of aquatic macrophytes* is 5 to 15 ppm.
4 – Why shall I add POTASSIUM (00K) to the aquarium?
R: Potassium is one of the essential macronutrients to plants. In case it does not occur in adequate concentrations, plants present signals of deficiency, as root decay, dry extremities and older leaves border shriveling.
5 – When I want to add K, for example to the aquarium, shall I add NPK or 00K?
R: NPK supplement is a solution that contains nitrate salts, (N03-), phosphate (P043-) and potassium (K). Therefore, adding it to the aquarium, you will be increasing the concentration of the 3 components. In case you want to add only potassium concentration, for instance, 00K usage is indicated. The same occurs with 0PK and N0K.
6 – Can I use more than one Acquafauna® product in the same aquarium?
R: Yes, since the products are not mixed before adding to the aquarium.
7 – Which is the function of iron in planted aquarium?
R: Iron is important, because it is an essential element to plants photosynthesis, development and growth. Iron concentration recommended for the majority of aquatic macrophytes is 0.2 to 0.5 ppm. The main symptom of this element deficiency is yellowing of the tip to the base in “V” form.
8 – Aguafauna has 3 products which supplement IRON. When shall I use each of them?
R: The three products which have the goal of supplementing iron concentration in planted aquarium are: Iron liquid fertilizer (Fe2+): it is recommended to use it in an aquarium which is already assembled and that presents deficiency in Iron. – Laterite granulate (Fe+ gran): it is recommended to use it in the aquarium assembling, as a fertile layer component, distributing uniformly on the whole aquarium bottom area, aiming to supply its need. Besides iron, it has several other elements essential to full and healthy development of aquatic plants as boron, chrome, copper, manganese, nickel, zinc, calcium, sulphur and magnesium, therefore, it makes also micronutrients gradually available for absorption by plants´ roots. – Laterite granulate in cartridges (Fe+ cap): it is recommended to use cartridges in aquarium which is already assembled. Besides iron, it has several other elements essential to full and healthy development of aquatic plants as boron, chrome, copper, manganese, nickel, zinc, calcium, sulphur and magnesium, therefore, it makes also micronutrients gradually available for absorption by plants´ roots.
9 – What is GH Acquafauna for in a planted aquarium?
R: Acquafauna GH corrects hardness which provides balanced concentrations of calcium and magnesium ions dissolved. Calcium and magnesium are essential for the photosynthesis process, so it is recommended to keep them between 50 and 100 ppm.
10 – Which is the importance of CO2 in a planted aquarium?
R: Carbon dioxide (CO2) is essential for plants photosynthesis, such process consists on the conversion of CO2 and water in carbohydrates and oxygen due to the high resistance of CO2 diffusion in water and its concentration is reduced in aquatic systems and injection of CO2 is necessary so the plants grow healthy.
